Safety First!

On October 11, 2024, Catholic Central School of Tabaco Albay Inc. conducted a comprehensive earthquake and fire drill, engaging all students and staff across the campus.

The day began with an informative discussion led by expert officers from the Tabaco City Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), ensuring that students understood all the dos and don’ts in case of an emergency. This vital information set the stage for our activities, emphasizing the importance of being prepared.

Following the discussion, we conducted the fire drill in the morning, where everyone practiced safe evacuation procedures. Students learned how to quickly and calmly exit the building while remaining aware of their surroundings. This exercise highlighted the significance of knowing designated escape routes and gathering at specified safe zones.

In the afternoon, we transitioned to earthquake preparedness with the help of the Tabaco CDRRMO. Like the morning session, we began with an informative discussion before the actual drill. Students practiced essential drop-and-cover techniques, learning how to protect themselves during an earthquake by getting low, covering their heads, and staying in safe positions until the shaking stops.

These drills are not just routine; they are essential in fostering a culture of safety and awareness within our school community. By participating, students and personnel learn the critical steps needed to protect themselves and others during emergencies, reinforcing that preparedness is key to keeping everyone safe.

Thank you, Tabaco City CDRRMO and BFP Tabaco, for sharing your expertise and for your outstanding contribution to our Fire and Earthquake Drill!

Together, we are building a stronger, more informed community!
